Proof of departure
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket out of Paraguay. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready.Recommended

Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. If it's close to expiring, renew it before you go. No exceptions.
Keep a printed copy of your return ticket

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Before you travel, gather your passport (valid 6+ months), return ticket, first-night accommodation booking, and travel insurance. Save digital copies on your phone and print backups.
2
Arrive at Silvio Pettirossi International Airport (ASU)
Most French travellers fly into Asunción. After landing, follow signs to 'Migración' (Immigration). There are usually two queues: one for Paraguayan citizens/residents and one for foreigners. Join the foreigners queue.
3
Present your passport and documents
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation details. Answer clearly and calmly. They'll stamp your passport with a 90-day entry permit.
4
Collect your luggage and proceed to customs
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then walk through the green (nothing to declare) or red (goods to declare) customs channel. Unless you're carrying restricted items, use the green channel.
