Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Singapore passport only needs to be valid for the entire time you're in Taiwan. Airlines rarely check for 6 months validity on this route, but carry a printout of your flight itinerary just in case.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Taiwan
Immigration officers at Taoyuan and Kaohsiung airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound booking ready — they check this at the counter before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter from your host. Officers rarely ask for it, but if you're staying at a private address, having the host's name and phone number written down avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or credit card showing at least NT$10,000 (roughly S$400) available. Officers almost never check this for Singaporeans, but budget airlines sometimes ask at check-in.Recommended
Visa-free is not extendable
The 30-day visa-free stay cannot be extended. If you need more time, you must apply for a visa before traveling or leave and re-enter. Overstaying can lead to fines and a ban.
No arrival card needed
Singapore passport holders do not need to fill out an arrival card or online declaration. Just walk up to the immigration counter with your passport.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents before departure
Check your passport validity (6+ months from entry date), print or screenshot your return ticket and first night's accommodation. Get travel insurance and a local SIM or eSIM.
2
Arrive at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) or other entry point
Follow signs to 'Foreign Passports' or 'All Passports' queue. Have your passport, boarding pass, and any supporting documents ready.
3
Present your passport to the immigration officer
Hand over your passport. The officer will check your details, may ask about your stay (purpose, duration, where you're staying). Answer clearly and concisely.
4
Receive your entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the date of entry and the visa-free stay period (30 days). Check the stamp before walking away.
5
Collect luggage and proceed to customs
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel. If you have items to declare (e.g., large amounts of cash, restricted goods), use the red channel.
