Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your UAE passport needs to be valid for the entire period you plan to stay in Bahrain. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Bahraini immigration, but airlines may check for at least 3 months validity at check-in.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Bahrain
Immigration officers at Bahrain International Airport routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight itinerary ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in Bahrain. Immigration may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked hotel.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have access to at least 500 BHD (approx. 1,300 USD) in cash, card, or bank statement. Officers rarely ask, but it's a formal requirement for visa-free entry.Recommended
GCC queue at immigration
As an Emirati passport holder, you can use the dedicated GCC nationals queue at Bahrain International Airport. This is usually faster than the general foreign passport queue.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Bahrain International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then to 'Passport Control'. There are separate queues for GCC nationals and other passport holders — as an Emirati, you can use the GCC queue. Have your passport and return ticket ready.
2
Present your passport at immigration
Hand over your passport to the officer. They'll check your validity, stamp your entry, and may ask a few questions like where you're staying or how long you plan to stay. Answer clearly and politely.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
After clearing immigration, head to the baggage claim area. Grab your bags, then walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have no goods to declare. You're now free to enter Bahrain.
