Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before departure
Apply for your DR Congo eVisa at visa.gouv.cd at least 7 days before travel. The eVisa is single-entry and valid for up to 90 days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at N'Djili Airport will check it before issuing your entry stamp.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for 6 months beyond stay
Your UAE passport must have at least 6 months of remaining validity from your date of entry into DR Congo. Airlines at Dubai International will enforce this before boarding — no exceptions.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at N'Djili Airport will ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket before stamping you in. Have a printed copy or show it on your phone — they rarely accept verbal promises.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in DR Congo. Immigration may ask for it if you look uncertain about where you're staying.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least $500 USD equivalent. Officers rarely check this for UAE passport holders, but it's safer to have it ready.Recommended
Yellow fever certificate is mandatory
You must show a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate (yellow card) at immigration. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated on the spot at your own expense.
eVisa is the only option for Emiratis
There is no visa on arrival for UAE passport holders. You must get the eVisa before you travel. No exceptions.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official DR Congo visa portal (visa.gouv.cd). Fill in your personal details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get a PDF via email. Print two copies — one to hand to immigration, one as backup. Keep a digital copy on your phone too.
3
Arrive at N'djili Airport (FIH) or other entry point
At immigration, present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. They'll stamp your passport and let you through. The whole process usually takes 15–30 minutes if you have everything ready.
