UAE passport holders can enter Cyprus without a visa for stays up to 90 days in any 180-day period. This has been the case since 2024. Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport must be valid for the entire period you plan to stay in Cyprus. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Cyprus immigration, but some airlines may enforce a 6-month rule — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Cyprus
Immigration officers at Larnaca and Paphos airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — they may also check that your onward travel is within the 90-day visa-free limit.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed or digital copy of your hotel reservation, Airbnb confirmation, or a letter of invitation from your host. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Have access to at least €50–€100 per day of your stay, either in cash, a bank statement, or a credit card. Immigration may ask for proof if you look under-funded or are staying a long time.Recommended
90-day limit applies to all Schengen countries
Your 90-day visa-free stay in Cyprus counts toward the 90/180-day rule for the entire Schengen area. If you've already spent time in other Schengen countries, that time counts against your 90 days in Cyprus.
Cyprus is not fully in Schengen
Cyprus is legally part of the Schengen area but not yet in the Schengen Information System. This means you may still get a passport stamp when entering or leaving, and the 90-day limit is enforced separately from other Schengen countries for now.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Larnaca or Paphos airport
You'll join the 'All Passports' queue at immigration. Have your passport, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. The officer will stamp your passport — that's your entry record. The process usually takes 2–5 minutes.
2
Present documents if asked
The officer may ask how long you're staying and where. Answer clearly. If they ask for proof of funds, show a bank statement or credit card. Most UAE passport holders are waved through without extra questions.
3
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually nothing to declare for personal items. You're free to enter Cyprus.
