Emirati passport holders need an eVisa to enter Gabon. The entire process is online: you apply before traveling and receive an approved document by email. As of 2026, this is the standard entry method for UAE citizens.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for your Gabon eVisa at evisa.gouv.ga at least 72 hours before departure. The eVisa is valid for single entry and covers stays up to 30 days. Print the approval email and carry it with your passport — immigration at Libreville Airport will check it before stamping you in.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your UAE passport needs at least one blank page for the entry stamp. Gabon does not enforce a 6-month validity rule — your passport just needs to be valid for the duration of your trip. Airlines at Dubai and Abu Dhabi may still ask for 6 months, so check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Gabon
Immigration officers at Libreville routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot of your booking ready. Overstaying your eVisa can result in fines at the airport.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Gabon. Immigration may ask where you are staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least 500,000 XAF (roughly 3,000 AED) for your stay. Officers rarely ask for it, but having proof avoids delays.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must show a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate at immigration. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport (and pay a fine). Get the shot at least 10 days before travel.
eVisa is single-entry only
The eVisa allows one entry. If you leave Gabon (even to a neighboring country), you'll need a new eVisa to return. Plan your itinerary accordingly.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisa.gouv.ga, fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo and a copy of your passport data page. Pay the fee (amount varies by nationality — expect around 70–100 EUR). Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive and save your eVisa
You'll get an approval email with a PDF attachment. Print it and also save a copy on your phone. The eVisa is valid for a single entry, typically up to 30 days.
3
Arrive at Libreville International Airport (LBV)
At immigration, present your passport and the eVisa approval. The officer will stamp you in. Keep your return ticket and accommodation details ready in case they ask.
