Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan does not enforce a 6-month validity rule for UAE passport holders. Airlines may still check for at least 6 months validity — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kyrgyzstan
Immigration officers at Manas International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready. Without one, you may be refused boarding or entry.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border officers may ask where you are staying. Have a hotel reservation confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host ready. A simple booking printout or email works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Carry evidence of sufficient funds — a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least $50 per day of your stay. Officers rarely ask, but having it ready avoids delays.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry, not departure
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Kyrgyzstan. If your passport expires in 5 months, you'll be denied boarding. Check your passport date before booking.
No visa extensions — leave on time
The 60-day visa-free stay cannot be extended for any reason. Overstaying even a day can result in fines and future entry bans. Set a calendar reminder to leave a few days early.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Manas International Airport (Bishkek) or land border
Most travellers fly into Bishkek's Manas Airport. After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control' for foreign nationals. There are separate queues for Kyrgyz citizens and foreigners — use the foreigner line.
2
Present your passport and boarding pass
Hand over your passport (with at least 6 months validity) and your boarding pass. The officer will check your passport, may ask your purpose of visit and how long you're staying. Answer briefly and honestly.
3
Show supporting documents if asked
The officer may request to see your return ticket and hotel booking. Have these ready on your phone or printed. In practice, UAE passport holders are rarely asked, but it's better to have them.
4
Get your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the entry date and the allowed stay (60 days). Check the stamp before walking away — make sure the dates are correct. Keep the stamp visible until you leave.
5
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually nothing to declare for personal items. Exit into the arrivals hall.

Frequently asked questions

No, the visa-free stay is not extendable. You must leave Kyrgyzstan before 60 days are up. If you want to stay longer, you'd need to apply for a visa at a Kyrgyz embassy before travel or leave and re-enter (though re-entry rules can change — check current policy).
For stays under 60 days, no registration is required. If you somehow end up staying longer (which you shouldn't without a visa), you'd need to register with the State Registration Service within 5 business days. But since you can't extend, just don't overstay.
Overstaying is taken seriously. You'll likely face a fine (around 1,000–5,000 KGS depending on the days over), possible detention, and a ban from re-entering for a period. Don't risk it — set a reminder to leave a few days early.
Yes, UAE passport holders can enter via any international border crossing. The same visa-free rules apply. Common crossings include the Ak-Jol checkpoint from Kazakhstan (near Bishkek) and the Dostuk checkpoint from Uzbekistan (near Osh). Have your documents ready — border officers may ask more questions than at the airport.
No, there is no departure tax for air travel. For land borders, there's no fee either. Just make sure you have your passport with the entry stamp.
If you're transiting through Manas Airport and staying airside (not passing through immigration), you don't need a visa. But if you plan to leave the airport, even for a few hours, you'll need to enter under the visa-free rules — same 60-day limit applies.
The local currency is the Kyrgyzstani som (KGS). UAE dirhams are not widely accepted. Exchange dirhams for som at banks or exchange offices in Bishkek — rates are fair. ATMs are common in cities. US dollars are also easily exchanged. Avoid exchanging at the airport for poor rates.
