UAE passport holders can get a visa on arrival in Cambodia — no need to apply in advance. Just show up at the airport in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, or Sihanoukville, pay the fee in cash, and you're in. As of 2026, this is the standard entry method for Emirati travellers.

Entry requirements

Visa on arrival
Visa on arrival
Get a visa on arrival at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, or Sihanoukville airports. Bring $30 USD in cash for a tourist visa (single entry, 30 days). Have a passport photo ready — if you don't have one, they'll charge an extra $2–$5 USD at the counter.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay
Your passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining from your date of entry. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for visa on arrival
Immigration officers ask for proof of a flight out of Cambodia within 30 days. If you don't have one, they may deny the visa on arrival. Have a printed or digital copy of your onward ticket ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host address
Immigration rarely asks for this, but having a printed hotel confirmation or host's address speeds things up. If you're staying with friends, write down their full address and phone number.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash or bank statement
Officials don't routinely check funds, but carry at least $500 USD in cash or have a bank statement ready. ATMs are widely available in cities but charge high fees.Recommended
Cash only for visa fee
The visa-on-arrival fee must be paid in US dollars cash. There are ATMs after immigration, but not before. Bring $30–$35 USD in small bills (no $100s) to avoid hassle.
Photo service available at counter
If you forget a passport photo, the visa counter can take one for about $2–$5 USD. It's quick, but having your own photo saves a couple of minutes.

What happens at the border

1
Land and head to the visa-on-arrival counter
After deplaning, follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' before immigration. At Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports, the counter is clearly marked. Fill out the application form (available at the counter).
2
Submit documents and pay the fee
Hand over your passport, the completed form, your passport photo, and $30 USD (tourist visa). They'll process it in about 5–10 minutes. Keep your boarding pass handy in case they ask for your onward ticket.
3
Collect your passport with visa sticker
Once called, pick up your passport. Check that the visa sticker has your name, passport number, and entry date correct. Then proceed to the immigration queue.
4
Pass through immigration
Present your passport with the visa sticker to the immigration officer. They'll stamp you in. You're now legally in Cambodia.

Frequently asked questions

The tourist visa on arrival costs $30 USD. A business visa is $35 USD. Pay in US dollars cash — exact change is appreciated. Credit cards are not accepted.
No, the visa on arrival cannot be extended. If you want to stay longer than 30 days, you'll need to leave and re-enter, or apply for a different visa type before you travel (like an ordinary visa from a Cambodian embassy).
No pre-arrival form is required. You fill out a simple application form at the visa-on-arrival counter in the airport. No e-Arrival Card or online registration is needed for UAE passport holders.
No problem — the visa counter can take your photo on the spot for a small fee (around $2–$5 USD). It just adds a couple of minutes to the process.
Yes, but only at certain border crossings. The most common land crossings that offer visa on arrival for UAE passport holders are Poipet (from Thailand) and Bavet (from Vietnam). Check the specific crossing before you go — some smaller ones may not offer this facility.
No, it's not required for entry. But it's strongly recommended — medical costs in Cambodia can be high for serious issues, and evacuation to Bangkok or Singapore can cost thousands. Get a policy that covers medical evacuation.
Overstay fines are $5 USD per day. You pay at the airport immigration office before departure. Serious overstays (over 30 days) can lead to blacklisting, so don't push it.
