Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport must be valid for at least the entire period you plan to stay in Armenia. Border officers in Yerevan rarely ask for 6 months beyond departure, but airlines may enforce it — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Armenia
Immigration at Zvartnots Airport routinely asks for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
You may be asked where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. A hotel confirmation or a letter from a host covers this.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Border officers can ask for proof of sufficient funds — around $50–$100 per day is a safe benchmark. A credit card or bank statement works.Recommended
Visa-free for 180 days
This is one of the most generous visa-free policies for Argentinian passport holders. You can stay up to 6 months without any paperwork — just your passport and a return ticket.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Immigration officers check the 6-month validity rule carefully. If your passport expires sooner, you'll be turned away. Double-check your passport's expiry date before booking flights.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Yerevan airport or land border
Most travellers fly into Zvartnots International Airport (Yerevan). You can also enter by land from Georgia or Iran. At the airport, follow signs to 'Passport Control' — there are separate queues for foreigners and Armenian citizens.
2
Present your passport to the immigration officer
Hand over your passport. The officer will check your validity, may ask how long you plan to stay, and might request your return ticket. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport with the entry date and the allowed stay period.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim (if you checked bags), then walk through customs. There's usually no customs declaration for personal items. You're now free to enter Armenia.
