Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your departure date from Belgium
Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the day you leave Belgium. It must have been issued within the last 10 years. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from the Schengen area
Immigration officers at Belgian airports routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to a non-Schengen country. This applies even if you plan to overland to another Schengen state — you need a ticket out of the entire Schengen zone.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation, Airbnb receipt, or a signed letter from your host with their address and contact number. Immigration rarely asks for it, but if they do, not having it can mean extra questioning or denial.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Have a recent bank statement showing at least €50 per day of your stay, or a credit card with sufficient limit. Belgian border officers rarely check this for short visits, but they can ask — especially if you arrive without a return ticket.Recommended
90-day limit applies to all Schengen countries
Your 90-day visa-free stay is for the entire Schengen area (29 European countries). Days spent in France, Germany, Spain, etc., all count toward the same 90-day limit. Track your days carefully.
Proof of funds may be requested
Immigration can ask for proof you can support yourself during your stay. A bank statement showing at least €50-100 per day of your stay is a good benchmark. Credit card statements also work.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the airport
Fly into Brussels Airport (BRU) or Brussels South Charleroi (CRL). Follow signs to 'Passport Control' or 'All Passports' queue — as an Argentine, you'll use the non-EU line.
2
Present your passport
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask the purpose of your visit, how long you're staying, and where you're staying. Answer clearly and briefly.
3
Show supporting documents if asked
If requested, show your return ticket, accommodation booking, and proof of funds. Keep them in your carry-on, not checked luggage.
4
Get your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry. Check the stamp is legible before walking away. This stamp proves you entered legally.
