Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay in Seychelles
Your passport needs to be valid for the full duration of your visit. Airlines check this at check-in. If your passport expires sooner, renew before you travel.Required
Seychelles Travel Authorization (eTA)
Apply online before departure
All visa-free visitors must get a Travel Authorization at seychelles.govtas.com before flying. Apply at least 2–3 days ahead — approval is usually quick. Print the approval email or save it on your phone.Apply for Travel AuthorizationRequired
Return or onward ticket
Immigration will ask for proof of departure
You need a confirmed flight out of Seychelles within 90 days. Immigration at Pointe Larue Airport checks this for every foreigner. A one-way ticket gets you refused entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have your hotel confirmation or a letter from your host ready. Immigration may ask where you're staying. A simple booking printout or email works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during the stay
Carry a bank statement or credit card showing you have enough money for your trip. Seychelles is expensive — budget at least $150–$200 per day. Immigration rarely asks, but it's safer to have proof.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Airlines check this before you board. If your passport has less than 6 months validity from your entry date, you won't be allowed to fly. Double-check before you book.
No visa, but still need proof of onward travel
Even though you don't need a visa, immigration will ask to see a return or onward ticket. Have a screenshot ready on your phone to avoid delays.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Seychelles International Airport (SEZ)
You'll land at the main airport on Mahé. Follow signs to immigration. There are usually two queues: one for Seychellois citizens and one for foreigners. Join the foreigner queue.
2
Present your documents to the immigration officer
Hand over your passport, return ticket (printed or on your phone), and accommodation confirmation. The officer may ask a few questions — how long you're staying, where you're staying, your job. Answer clearly and honestly.
3
Get your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a visitor's permit valid for up to 90 days. Check the stamp to confirm the allowed stay. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when you leave.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually nothing to declare for personal items. Walk out into the arrivals hall.

Frequently asked questions

No. The visa-free entry is for a maximum of 90 days and cannot be extended. If you want to stay longer, you'd need to leave and re-enter, but immigration may question frequent back-to-back visits.
Only if you're arriving from a country with yellow fever risk. Argentina is not on that list, so you don't need the vaccine for direct travel. If you've recently been to a risk country, bring your vaccination certificate.
You'll be denied boarding by the airline or refused entry at immigration. Renew your passport before you travel. Six months validity from your entry date is a hard requirement.
Technically, the visitor permit is for tourism only. Remote work is a grey area — many people do it quietly, but officially you're not allowed to work for a Seychelles employer. If you're just checking emails for your overseas job, it's usually fine, but don't advertise it.
The local currency is the Seychellois rupee (SCR). Euros and US dollars are widely accepted at hotels and larger restaurants, but you'll get better rates using local currency. ATMs are available at the airport and in Victoria. Credit cards work at most hotels but less so at small shops.
No. There's no arrival declaration required for Argentine passport holders. Just show up with your documents.
You'll be fined. The fine is 1,000 SCR (about $75 USD) per day overstayed, and you may be banned from re-entering for a period. Don't risk it — set a reminder to leave on time.
