Moldova entry requirements for Austria passport holders
Austrian passport holders can enter Moldova without a visa for stays up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This has been the case for years and remains unchanged in 2026. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your entry date and you have a return or onward ticket ready.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Valid passport Must cover your entire stay in Moldova | Your Austrian passport needs to be valid for the full duration of your stay in Moldova. Moldova does not enforce a 6-month validity rule beyond your departure date — just cover the dates you are inside the country. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Immigration may ask for proof of exit | Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or onward ticket out of Moldova. Border officers at Chișinău Airport routinely ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. | Recommended |
| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking or host invitation | Keep a copy of your hotel reservation or a letter from your host in Moldova. Immigration rarely asks for it, but having it ready avoids delays if they do. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Show you can support yourself during the stay | Carry a bank statement or credit card showing access to funds. The official requirement is around €100 per day of stay, but in practice officers rarely check this for Austrian passport holders. | Recommended |
