Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Austrian passport needs to be valid for your entire stay in Singapore. Singapore does not enforce a 6-month validity rule for short visits, but airlines may check it at check-in.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Singapore
Immigration officers at Changi Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — they scan it at the counter.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in Singapore. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it avoids delays if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient cash or bank statement
Have at least 1,000 SGD or equivalent in cash, traveler's cheques, or a bank statement. Immigration may ask to see it if you look like you might overstay or work illegally.Recommended
SG Arrival Card (SGAC)
Digital arrival declaration
Fill in the SG Arrival Card online at eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard within 3 days before your flight. You get a QR code — show it at immigration to skip the paper form.Fill SG Arrival CardOptional
No arrival card needed
Singapore scrapped the paper arrival card for most visitors. You don't need to fill out anything online before you travel.
Overstaying is serious
Overstaying even by a day can lead to fines up to SGD 2,000, a ban, or jail. Set a reminder to leave before your 90 days are up.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Changi Airport
You'll land at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN). Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and join the foreign passport queue. Have your passport and return ticket ready.
2
Present documents at immigration counter
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask your purpose of visit, length of stay, and where you're staying. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport with a visit pass valid for up to 90 days.
3
Collect baggage and exit
After clearing immigration, collect your luggage from the carousel and proceed through customs. There's nothing else to fill out — no arrival card needed.
