Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Mongolia eVisa at evisa.mn at least 3 business days before departure. The eVisa is valid for up to 30 days and costs around $50 USD depending on nationality. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Chinggis Khaan Airport will check it before stamping you in.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least the duration of your stay in Mongolia. Airlines at Sarajevo and connecting hubs may enforce a 6-month validity rule — check with your carrier before flying. No blank page minimum for the eVisa entry.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Ulaanbaatar routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing you leave Mongolia within the eVisa validity period. Overland exit plans won't cut it — they want a flight booking.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel or host confirmation
Carry a printed or digital hotel booking confirmation for your first few nights in Mongolia. Immigration rarely asks for it, but if you're arriving on a late flight or look underprepared, they may request it. A hostel or guesthouse booking works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least $500 USD for a short stay. Officers don't usually ask for it, but if you're flagged for any reason, they'll want to see you're not planning to work illegally. Cash in USD or MNT also works.Recommended
eVisa Only — No Visa on Arrival
Mongolia does not offer visa on arrival for Bosnia and Herzegovina passport holders. You must get the eVisa before you travel. No exceptions.
Smooth Entry at UBN Airport
Chinggis Khaan International Airport (UBN) has a modern immigration hall. With your eVisa printed and passport ready, you'll be through in 5–10 minutes. No queues for visa applications.
