Bosnia and Herzegovina passport holders need an eVisa to enter Uganda. You apply online before you travel, and approval usually takes a few business days. As of 2026, this is the only way to get a visa for tourism or business.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Uganda eVisa at the official portal at least 2 weeks before departure. The application asks for passport details, travel dates, and a digital photo. Pay the fee online — single entry is $50 USD, multiple entry is $100 USD.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for 6 months beyond your stay
Your Bosnia and Herzegovina passport needs at least 6 months of validity from your date of entry into Uganda. Immigration officers at Entebbe check this strictly — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
You need a confirmed return or onward ticket showing you will leave Uganda before your eVisa expires. Airlines at departure check this before issuing a boarding pass — a one-way ticket without proof of onward travel will get you stopped.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Have a hotel booking or a letter of invitation from your host in Uganda. Immigration at Entebbe sometimes asks where you are staying — showing a printed reservation avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Carry evidence of sufficient funds for your stay — a bank statement or credit card showing at least $300 USD equivalent. Immigration officers rarely ask, but having it ready prevents being sent to secondary questioning.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no visa on arrival
Uganda no longer offers visa on arrival for most nationalities. You must have an approved eVisa before you board your flight. Apply online at visas.immigration.go.ug at least a week before travel.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Uganda, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Uganda eVisa portal (visas.immigration.go.ug). Fill in your personal details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $50 for a single-entry tourist visa) with a credit or debit card. Submit and wait for approval — typically 2-5 business days.
2
Print your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll receive a PDF by email. Print it out and keep it with your passport. You'll need to show it at the airport check-in and upon arrival in Uganda.
3
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport (or land border)
At immigration, present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp your passport and you're in. The whole process usually takes 10-20 minutes if you have everything ready.
