Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to be in Rwanda. Airlines at Dhaka check this before boarding. If your passport expires within 6 months, you might still be allowed in, but some airlines may refuse boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Rwanda
Immigration officers at Kigali International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or show it on your phone. This is checked before you get your entry stamp.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a hotel reservation or a letter from your host ready. Immigration may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. A simple booking confirmation works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry at least $200 USD in cash or have a bank statement showing sufficient funds. Immigration rarely asks, but it's better to have it ready. ATMs are available at the airport but not always reliable.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine required
If you're arriving from Bangladesh or any country with yellow fever risk, you must show a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate. Without it, you may be vaccinated at the airport or denied entry. Get the vaccine at least 10 days before travel.
No visa, no fee, no forms
This is one of the easiest entries for Bangladeshi passport holders. Just show up with a valid passport and an onward ticket. No visa application, no payment, no arrival card to fill.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Kigali International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Arrivals'. There are two queues: one for Rwandan/EAC citizens and one for all other passports. Join the 'All Passports' queue.
2
Present documents at immigration counter
Hand over your passport and any supporting documents (return ticket, accommodation booking) if asked. The officer will check your passport validity, take a photo, and stamp you in. This usually takes 2–5 minutes.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
After clearing immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. You're free to enter Rwanda. No visa fee, no forms to fill.
