Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for your Uganda eVisa at the official portal at least 2 weeks before departure. The eVisa costs $50 USD for a single-entry tourist visa and takes 3–5 business days to process. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Entebbe will ask to see it.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must have 6 months validity
Your Bangladesh passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Uganda. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Entebbe International Airport routinely ask for proof of a return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot of your booking ready — they may deny entry if you cannot show one.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host in Uganda. Immigration may ask where you are staying, and having proof speeds up the process.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have bank statements or a credit card ready showing you have at least $300 USD available for your stay. Officers rarely ask, but if they do, you need to show you are not a financial burden.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Uganda, not from when you apply for the visa. If it expires sooner, renew it before you travel.
Keep your eVisa approval handy
Save a digital copy on your phone and carry a printed backup. Immigration officers at Entebbe and land borders will ask to see it.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Uganda eVisa portal (visas.immigration.go.ug) and fill out the application. You'll need to upload a passport photo, a copy of your passport bio page, and your travel itinerary. Pay the fee with a credit or debit card.
2
Wait for approval
Processing usually takes 2–5 business days. You'll receive an approval letter by email. Print it or save a copy on your phone.
3
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport
When you land, head to the immigration counter. Present your passport, the eVisa approval letter, and your return ticket. The officer may ask a few questions about your trip. After a quick check, you'll get an entry stamp.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
Once stamped, collect your bags from the carousel and proceed through customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel.
