Valid passport
Must have 6 months validity
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Zimbabwe. Airlines check this at check-in, and immigration at Harare and Victoria Falls enforces it strictly.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers at Zimbabwean airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they may deny boarding if you cannot show one.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host. Immigration may ask for your first night's address, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have bank statements or a credit card ready to show you have at least $500 USD for your stay. Immigration officers occasionally ask, particularly for longer visits.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory
Do not travel without an approved eVisa. You will be denied boarding by airlines and refused entry at the border. Apply well in advance.
Digital backup recommended
Keep a copy of your eVisa approval on your phone and in the cloud. If you lose the printed copy, you can show the digital version at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to www.evisa.gov.zw, fill in the application form, upload a passport-style photo and a copy of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (typically around $30-50 USD depending on visa type) and submit. Processing usually takes 2-5 business days.
2
Receive eVisa approval
You'll get an email with your eVisa approval letter. Print it out and also save a PDF on your phone. Double-check that your name and passport number match exactly.
3
Arrive at Zimbabwe border
At Harare International Airport or any land border, proceed to immigration. Hand over your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in. Keep the eVisa letter with your passport until you leave.
