Valid passport
Must be valid for 6 months beyond your stay
Your Belgian passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining from your date of entry into Cameroon. Airlines at Brussels Airport will check this before boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport will ask to see a confirmed return or onward flight ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Hotel booking confirmations or an invitation letter from your host in Cameroon can speed up the immigration process. Officers occasionally ask for this at the border.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Carry a bank statement or a credit card showing you have sufficient funds for your stay. Immigration may ask for this if you look underprepared.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must present a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate (the 'yellow card') at immigration. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated on the spot at your own expense.
Currency and cash
Cameroon uses the Central African CFA franc (XAF). ATMs are available in major cities, but carry some cash for taxis and small purchases. Euros and US dollars are not widely accepted.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Cameroon eVisa website (evisacameroon.com). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around €70–€100 depending on processing speed). Submit and wait for approval — typically 3–7 business days.
2
Pack your documents
Print or save on your phone: the eVisa approval email, your flight itinerary, accommodation booking, and travel insurance certificate. Keep them together in a folder or a dedicated phone album.
3
Arrive at Yaoundé or Douala airport
At immigration, present your passport (with the eVisa approval), return ticket, and accommodation proof. The officer will stamp you in. The process usually takes 5–10 minutes if your documents are ready.
