Belgian passport holders can get a visa on arrival at Cambodia's international airports and major land borders. This is the standard way to enter for tourism — no need to apply in advance. As of 2026, the process is straightforward but requires a few specific documents ready before you queue.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply at evisa.gov.kh. The eVisa costs $30 USD and is valid for a single entry up to 30 days. Processing takes 3 working days — apply at least a week before your flight.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for 6 months beyond arrival
Your passport must have at least 6 months of remaining validity from your date of entry into Cambodia. Airlines check this at check-in — they will deny boarding if your passport expires sooner.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for visa-on-arrival entry
Immigration officers at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports routinely ask for proof of a flight out of Cambodia. Have a printed or digital copy of your onward ticket ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or an invitation letter from your host. Immigration may ask for it at the counter, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked hotel.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash or bank statement
Have at least $500 USD in cash or a bank statement showing sufficient funds. Immigration rarely checks this for Belgian passport holders, but having it avoids delays.Recommended
Cash only at visa counter
The visa-on-arrival fee must be paid in US dollars cash. No credit cards, no euros, no riel. Bring exact change if possible — smaller bills (US $10, $20) are easier to use.
Tourist vs ordinary visa — choose wisely
If you think you might want to stay longer than 30 days, ask for the ordinary visa (E visa) at the counter. It costs US $5 more but can be extended once for another 30 days. The tourist visa (T visa) cannot be extended at all.

What happens at the border

1
Fill out the arrival card and visa application form
On the plane or at the airport, you'll get an arrival card and a visa application form. Fill them out in capital letters. You'll need your passport number, flight number, and hotel address.
2
Go to the visa-on-arrival counter
At Phnom Penh (PNH) or Siem Reap (REP) airports, follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' before immigration. Hand over your passport, completed form, photo, and US $30/$35 cash. The officer will process it in about 5-10 minutes.
3
Collect your passport with visa sticker
Once processed, you'll get your passport back with a visa sticker. Check the validity dates before walking away. Then proceed to the immigration queue for entry stamping.
4
Pass through immigration
Show your passport with the fresh visa sticker, your arrival card, and your boarding pass. The officer may ask your purpose of visit and how long you're staying. Answer clearly. You'll get an entry stamp.
