Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Cameroon. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Yaoundé and Douala airports routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket ready. Overstays are fined 10,000 XAF per day at the airport before departure.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Hotel booking confirmation or an invitation letter from your host in Cameroon. Officers may ask for this if you look uncertain about where you are staying. A simple booking printout works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Carry cash (CFA francs or euros) or a bank statement showing at least 100,000 XAF per person for shorter stays. ATMs in Yaoundé and Douala work but can run out of cash on weekends.Recommended

Yellow fever vaccine required
Cameroon requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for all travellers. Get the vaccine at least 10 days before departure and carry your yellow card. Immigration officers do check.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Cameroon eVisa website (evisacameroon.com). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $100–$150 depending on processing speed). You'll receive the eVisa by email within 3–7 business days.
2
Print your eVisa and travel documents
Print a paper copy of the eVisa approval email. Also print or save to your phone: your return ticket, hotel booking confirmation, and travel insurance certificate. Keep them together in a folder.
3
Arrive at Yaoundé or Douala airport
Most flights from Bahrain arrive at Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport (NSI) or Douala International Airport (DLA). Follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Passport Control'. Join the queue for foreign passports.
4
Present documents at immigration
Hand over your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and hotel booking. The officer will check your details, stamp your passport, and wave you through. Keep your boarding pass handy — they may ask for it.
5
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim. Then go through customs (usually a green channel for most tourists). You're free to enter Cameroon.
