Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Bahrain passport needs to be valid for at least the full 30 days you plan to stay in Hong Kong. Hong Kong immigration does not enforce the 6-month rule, but your airline might — check with them before you fly.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Hong Kong
Immigration officers at Hong Kong International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they will check the date matches your 30-day visa-free limit.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation or an invitation letter from your host in Hong Kong. Officers rarely ask for it, but if they do, not having one can slow you down at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Have access to at least HKD 3,000–5,000 in cash or a credit card. Hong Kong immigration can ask to see proof you can support yourself without working — I've seen them do it for first-time visitors.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Hong Kong immigration requires your passport to be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. If your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding by the airline or refused entry at the airport. Renew your passport before you travel.
No arrival form needed
Bahraini passport holders do not need to fill out an arrival/departure card. Just present your passport at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Hong Kong International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Immigration'. There are separate counters for foreign passport holders. Join the queue for 'Visitors' (not residents).
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport and, if asked, your return ticket and hotel booking. The officer will scan your passport, take a photo, and ask a few quick questions like purpose and length of stay.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the date of entry and the allowed stay (30 days). Check the stamp before leaving the counter — it shows your 'last day of stay'.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There are no arrival forms to fill out for Bahraini passport holders.
