Apply before travel
Apply for a Moldova eVisa at evisa.gov.md. Processing takes up to 10 working days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Moldova. Moldova does not require 6 months beyond departure, but airlines may enforce it — check with your carrier.Required

Proof of departure
Immigration officers may ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing you leave Moldova within the eVisa validity period.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation
Carry a hotel reservation, rental agreement, or a letter from your host in Moldova. Border officers rarely check this, but having it avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient money
Have bank statements or cash showing you can support yourself during your stay. No fixed amount is published, but around $50 per day is a safe benchmark.Recommended
eVisa is not extendable
If you overstay, you'll face fines and possible entry bans. Plan your trip carefully and leave before your allowed stay expires.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa approval, passport scan, and travel insurance on your phone and in cloud storage. Moldova's border systems can sometimes be offline, and a printed copy might not be enough.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa
Go to the official Moldova eVisa website (evisa.gov.md). Fill out the application form, upload a scanned copy of your passport bio page, a passport-sized photo, and your accommodation details. Pay the fee online. Processing takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive and Save Your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get an email with your eVisa confirmation. Download and print a copy, and also save it on your phone. Border control will check it electronically, but having a backup is smart.
3
Arrive at Chișinău International Airport
When you land, head to the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport, eVisa confirmation, and return ticket ready. The officer may ask about your accommodation and purpose of visit. Answer clearly and briefly.
4
Get Your Entry Stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the entry date and the number of days you're allowed to stay. Check the stamp before leaving the counter. If something looks wrong, ask politely.
