Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Tourist eVisa
Apply for a Saudi tourist eVisa at visa.visitsaudi.com before travel. The visa costs $135 USD and includes mandatory medical insurance — valid for 90 days, multiple entry. Approval usually comes within minutes, but apply at least 48 hours before your flight to be safe.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your Bahraini passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Saudi Arabia. Saudi immigration does not enforce a 6-month validity rule for GCC nationals, but your airline might — check with them before departure.Required
Return or onward ticket
Outbound flight proof
Immigration officers at Saudi airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound booking ready — they check this at the counter before stamping entry.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel reservation confirmation or a letter from your Saudi host. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Have a bank statement or credit card showing you can cover your stay. Saudi immigration doesn't enforce a minimum amount, but showing funds smooths the process if questioned.Recommended
Visa-free entry is automatic
There is no application, no fee, and no paperwork before you travel. Just show up with your valid passport and you will be stamped in.
Overstay penalties are strict
Saudi Arabia enforces overstay fines strictly. If you stay even one day beyond your 90-day limit, you will be fined SAR 100 per day. Multiple overstays can lead to a ban.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Saudi immigration
At any Saudi airport (Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, etc.), head to the immigration hall. Look for counters marked 'All Passports' or 'GCC Nationals' — Bahraini nationals can use either. Hand over your passport and boarding pass.
2
Present your documents
The officer will check your passport validity and may ask for your return ticket and hotel booking. Have them ready on your phone or printed. No visa stamp is needed — entry is recorded electronically.
3
Receive entry stamp
You'll get an entry stamp in your passport (or a digital record). The officer will tell you the allowed stay — typically 90 days. Keep any stamped slip given to you.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There is no separate visa fee to pay. You are free to enter Saudi Arabia.
