Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the full duration of your stay in Tunisia. Tunisia does not require 6 months of remaining validity beyond your departure date, but your airline may enforce their own policy — check with them before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Tunisia
Immigration officers at Tunis-Carthage Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound booking ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Tunisia. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or cash equivalent to roughly 200 TND per day of stay. Immigration may ask to see it if you look under-resourced or have no return ticket.Recommended
No visa needed — just show up
Bahraini passport holders can enter Tunisia visa-free for up to 90 days. No application, no fee, no paperwork before you travel. Just make sure your passport is valid for 6+ months and you have a return ticket.
Overstaying is expensive
If you stay longer than 90 days, you'll face a fine of about 10 TND per day overstayed, and you may be banned from re-entering Tunisia for up to a year. Set a reminder to leave on time.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Tunis-Carthage Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control' (Passeport). There are separate queues for Tunisian nationals and foreigners. Join the foreigners queue. Have your passport and return ticket ready.
2
Present your passport to the officer
Hand over your passport. The officer will check your validity, look at your photo, and may ask your purpose of visit (tourism is fine). Answer briefly and politely. They will stamp your passport with a 90-day entry stamp.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There is usually no customs declaration for personal items. Walk through the green channel unless you have something to declare.
