Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for your entire stay in Ukraine. No minimum validity period beyond your departure date is required by Ukrainian law, but airlines may ask for 6 months validity — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Ukraine
Immigration officers at Kyiv Boryspil and Lviv airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing your departure within the 90-day visa-free period.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation, Airbnb booking, or a letter of invitation from your host. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays at passport control.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least $50 USD per day of your stay. Officers almost never check this for short visits, but it's a legal requirement under Ukrainian immigration rules.Recommended
Passport validity is critical
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date. Airlines check this before boarding — if it is close, renew first.
No visa, no fee
You do not need to apply for a visa or pay any fee. Just show up with your passport and supporting documents.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare documents before travel
Print or save digital copies of your passport, return ticket, accommodation booking, and travel insurance. Keep them in a separate folder on your phone for quick access.
2
Arrive at Ukrainian border control
At any international airport (Kyiv Boryspil, Lviv, Odesa, etc.), join the 'All Passports' queue. Hand over your passport. The officer will check your passport validity, may ask for your return ticket or accommodation, and will stamp your passport with the entry date.
3
Receive entry stamp and proceed
Once stamped, you are free to enter. The stamp shows your allowed stay (90 days). Count from that date. No additional forms or fees.
