What happens at the border

1
Prepare documents before departure
Check your passport validity (6+ months from entry date). Book a return or onward ticket. Save a screenshot of your booking confirmation and accommodation address. Optionally, arrange travel insurance and an eSIM.
2
Arrive at Ecuador airport (e.g., Quito or Guayaquil)
Head to the immigration queue for foreign passports. Have your passport and boarding pass ready. You'll be asked your purpose of visit (tourism) and length of stay. Show your return ticket if asked.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a 90-day entry. Check the stamp before leaving the counter — confirm the date is correct. Keep the stamp visible; you'll need it when leaving.
4
Exit immigration and collect luggage
After the stamp, proceed to baggage claim. No customs declaration form is required for most tourists. Head to the exit.
