Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Cuban tourist eVisa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal. Processing takes 3–5 business days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Havana Airport will stamp it on arrival.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for duration of stay
Your Brazilian passport must be valid for your entire stay in Cuba. No minimum validity beyond departure is required by Cuban law, but airlines may enforce 6 months — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Cuban immigration officers always ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket ready. Without one, you may be denied boarding or entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Immigration may ask for your hotel booking or casa particular reservation. Have a printed confirmation or digital copy on your phone. If staying with friends, carry their address and phone number.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Officers rarely ask, but carry proof of sufficient funds — around 50 CUC per day (roughly $50 USD) in cash or a debit card. Cuba has limited card acceptance, so bring enough cash for your stay.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no exceptions
You cannot board your flight to Cuba without an approved eVisa. Apply online at least a week before departure. Print a copy and keep a digital backup.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Cuba, not from your departure date. Double-check before you apply.
