Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay in Singapore
Your Brazilian passport needs at least one blank page for the entry stamp. Singapore does not enforce a 6-month validity rule — your passport just needs to be valid for the duration of your stay. Airlines sometimes ask for 6 months, so check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Immigration may ask for proof of departure
Singapore immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready. If you're flying out to a third country, that ticket works too.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host's address
Keep your hotel confirmation or the address and phone number of your host handy. Immigration rarely asks, but when they do, they want a specific address — not just a city name.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash, card, or bank statement
Have access to at least 500 SGD per day of your stay. A credit card with a reasonable limit or a recent bank statement works. Immigration almost never checks this for Brazilian passport holders, but it's good to have.Recommended
SG Arrival Card (digital pre-arrival form)
Online submission within 3 days of arrival
Fill in the SG Arrival Card at eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard within 72 hours before landing. It's free and takes 5 minutes. You get a confirmation email — screenshot it. Immigration officers sometimes ask to see it, but it's not mandatory for Brazilian nationals.Open SG Arrival CardOptional
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Airlines check this before you board. If your passport has less than 6 months validity from your entry date, you will not be allowed to fly. Renew your passport well in advance.
No arrival card needed for air arrivals
Unlike many countries, Singapore does not require an online or paper arrival declaration for air travelers. Just your passport and onward ticket. Land arrivals from Malaysia may still need a card.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Changi Airport
You'll land at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN). Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Foreign Passports'. There are separate queues for Singaporeans/PRs and foreigners. Join the foreign passport queue.
2
Approach the immigration counter
Hand over your passport and any supporting documents if asked. The officer will scan your passport, take your fingerprints (index fingers, both hands), and may ask a few questions: purpose of visit, length of stay, where you're staying, onward travel plans. Answer clearly and briefly.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a 30-day visit pass. Check the stamp — it shows the date by which you must leave. Keep the stamp visible; you'll need it when you depart.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's nothing to declare for most tourists. Walk through the green channel if you have no dutiable goods.

Frequently asked questions

No. The 30-day visa-free stay is not extendable for Brazilian passport holders. If you need to stay longer, you must apply for a visa before travel or leave and re-enter (but immigration may question frequent short trips). Overstaying is serious — fines up to SGD 1,000, detention, and possible ban.
No. Singapore no longer requires a paper arrival card or online SG Arrival Card for most visitors. You just walk up to the immigration counter with your passport. However, if you're arriving by land from Malaysia (Woodlands or Tuas checkpoints), you may still need to fill a card — but for air arrivals, nothing.
You will be denied boarding by the airline and denied entry by Singapore immigration. No exceptions. Renew your passport before traveling. The 6 months are counted from your date of entry, not your departure.
No. The visa-free entry is strictly for tourism, social visits, and business activities like meetings or conferences. You cannot work (paid or unpaid), study, or engage in any form of employment. You need the appropriate work pass or student pass for that.
Overstaying is a serious offense. For overstays up to 90 days, you face a fine of up to SGD 1,000 and possible prosecution. Over 90 days can lead to caning and imprisonment. Always leave on time or apply for a visa before your stay expires.
No, if you stay airside (don't pass through immigration) and your connecting flight is within 24 hours. If you want to leave the airport during a layover, you can enter visa-free for up to 96 hours under the Visa-Free Transit Facility (VFTF) — but only if you hold a valid visa or long-term pass from certain countries (US, UK, Schengen, etc.). Check the latest rules before planning a city tour.
No, it's not required by immigration. But Singapore's healthcare is expensive — a simple hospital visit can cost hundreds of SGD per day. Strongly recommended to have coverage for medical emergencies and trip disruption.
