Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Uganda eVisa
Apply for your Uganda eVisa at the official portal before travel. The application takes about 15 minutes and costs around $50 USD depending on the visa type. Processing usually takes 2–3 business days, so apply at least a week before your flight.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay
Your Brazilian passport needs at least 6 months of validity remaining from your date of entry into Uganda. Airlines check this at check-in, and immigration officers at Entebbe enforce it strictly.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Uganda
Immigration at Entebbe Airport asks for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Airlines also require it before boarding. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Immigration officers may ask where you're staying. Have a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host ready. A printed booking page or a screenshot on your phone works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Evidence of sufficient money for your stay
You may be asked to show you have enough cash or card funds for your trip. A bank statement or credit card with a decent limit usually satisfies the officer. No specific minimum amount is published, but $200–$300 USD per week is a safe benchmark.Recommended
No visa on arrival for Brazilians
As of 2026, Brazilian passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Uganda. You must have an approved eVisa before you fly. Airlines check this before boarding — if you don't have it, you won't be allowed on the plane.
Yellow fever certificate required
If you're arriving from Brazil or any country with yellow fever, you must show your yellow fever vaccination certificate at immigration. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport (and possibly quarantined).

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to visas.immigration.go.ug, create an account, fill in your details, upload your passport photo and passport bio page, and pay the fee (around $50 for a single-entry tourist visa). Processing takes 3–7 business days. You'll receive the approval by email.
2
Print or save the eVisa approval
Once approved, you get a PDF. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. Immigration at Entebbe Airport will ask to see it before they stamp you in.
3
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration'. Join the queue for 'Visitors with eVisa'. You'll hand over your passport, eVisa approval, and sometimes your return ticket. The officer stamps you in — usually takes 2–5 minutes.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel, then walk through customs. There's no separate health check unless you're arriving from a yellow fever endemic country (you'll need the yellow fever certificate).
