Visa on arrival
Apply online or get on arrival
You can get a visa on arrival at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (Lusaka) and other major ports of entry. The single-entry visa costs $50 USD and is valid for 30 days. To save time, apply online in advance at the Zambia eVisa portal — processing takes 2–3 business days and costs the same $50 USD.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay
Your Brazilian passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining from your date of entry into Zambia. Carry a photocopy of the bio-data page separately — immigration officers sometimes ask for it.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Zambia immigration strictly enforces the requirement for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy of your flight itinerary or e-ticket ready — they will check it before stamping your passport.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Immigration officers may ask for your hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host. Have a printed copy or a screenshot on your phone ready to show.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
You may be asked to show you have at least $500 USD or equivalent in cash, credit card, or bank statement. ATMs are available in Lusaka but not everywhere in rural areas.Recommended
Cash only for visa fee
The visa on arrival fee must be paid in cash — US dollars are preferred. No credit or debit cards accepted. Bring small bills ($20s) to avoid problems with change.
Yellow fever vaccine required
Because Brazil has yellow fever, you must show a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate (the 'yellow card') when entering Zambia. Get the vaccine at least 10 days before your trip.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the border or airport
At Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka or at land borders like Victoria Falls, head to the 'Visa on Arrival' counter. There's usually a separate queue from other nationalities.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport, completed arrival form (if given on the plane or at the counter), and your return ticket and accommodation booking if asked. The officer will check your passport validity.
3
Pay the visa fee
Pay the fee in cash (USD). Single-entry 30-day visa is $50. Keep the receipt — you may need it when leaving.
4
Receive your visa sticker
The officer will stamp or stick the visa into your passport. Check the validity dates before walking away. You're then free to proceed to baggage claim or exit.
