What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to www.evisa.iq, fill in your details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 1–3 business days, but can be longer. Apply at least a week before your flight.
2
Print your eVisa and pack documents
Once approved, print a copy of the eVisa. Also print or save your flight booking, hotel confirmation, and insurance certificate. Keep them in your carry-on.
3
Arrive at Baghdad International Airport (BGW)
At the airport, follow signs to 'eVisa' or 'Visa on Arrival' counters. Present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. You'll be photographed and fingerprinted. The process usually takes 15–30 minutes.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel and proceed through customs. There are no additional visa fees at the airport if you already have the eVisa.
