Cameroonian passport holders need a visa to enter Ukraine in 2026. You must apply for an eVisa online before you travel — there is no visa-on-arrival option. Plan ahead, as processing can take up to a week.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Visa application
Visa required
You need a visa before traveling to Ukraine. Apply at the nearest Ukrainian embassy or consulate — processing takes up to 10 working days. Submit your application in person; some consulates accept courier submissions.Apply for visaRequired
Valid passport
Original passport required
Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure from Ukraine. It must have at least 2 blank visa pages. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers at Boryspil and Lviv airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready. If you are transiting through Schengen, the airline may also check this before issuing your boarding pass.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have a hotel reservation, rental agreement, or a notarized invitation from a Ukrainian host. Officers at passport control may ask to see it, especially if you are staying more than a few days. A printed confirmation works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Financial means for your stay
Carry evidence of sufficient funds — bank statements from the last 3 months or a credit card with a high limit. The official minimum is about 20,000 UAH per month (roughly $540 USD). Officers rarely ask, but having it avoids delays.Recommended
eVisa only — no visa on arrival
Cameroonian passport holders cannot get a visa at the border. You must apply and receive approval before you travel. Last-minute applications may not be processed in time.
Registration required after 3 days
If you're staying in a private home (not a hotel), your host must register you with the local migration office within 3 working days. Hotels do this automatically. Failing to register can cause problems when you leave.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisa.gov.ua/en/, fill in the application form, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $20–$30 depending on processing time). Wait for approval — usually 3–7 business days.
2
Pack your documents
Print or save on your phone: the eVisa approval email, your return/onward ticket, accommodation booking, and travel insurance certificate. Keep them together in a folder or a clear digital folder.
3
Arrive at a Ukrainian airport or land border
At Boryspil (Kyiv), Lviv, or Odesa airports, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Hand over your passport, eVisa printout (or show on phone), and return ticket if asked. The officer will stamp your passport — that's your entry.
4
Register your stay (if staying more than 3 days)
If you're staying in a hotel, they'll register you automatically. If you're in a private apartment, your host must register you with the local migration office within 3 working days. Ask your host to confirm they've done it.
