Apply online before travel
Apply for a Chad eVisa at e-visa.td before you fly. Processing takes 3–5 business days, and you need a digital passport photo and a scanned copy of your passport bio page. Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your Chinese passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Chad. Airlines at Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Chad
Immigration at N'Djamena International Airport routinely asks for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot of your booking ready — they may deny entry if you cannot show a departure flight.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Chad. Immigration officers sometimes ask for this at the border, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked hotel.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support your stay
Have a bank statement or a credit card showing at least 500,000 XAF (roughly $800 USD) available. Immigration may ask for proof of sufficient funds, particularly if you are staying more than a few days.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine required
You must have a yellow fever vaccination certificate to enter Chad. Get the shot at least 10 days before you travel and carry the certificate with your passport.
Currency and cash
Chad uses the Central African CFA franc (XAF). Credit cards are rarely accepted outside major hotels. Bring enough euros or US dollars to exchange at the airport or a bank.
