Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your departure date from Lithuania
Your Colombian passport needs at least 3 months of validity left after your planned exit from Lithuania. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding. Lithuania follows Schengen rules on this.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from the Schengen area
Immigration officers at Vilnius Airport ask for a return or onward ticket to confirm you leave within 90 days. A bus ticket to Poland or a flight to London works. Without one, expect to be questioned — they can deny entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a hotel confirmation, Airbnb reservation, or a letter from a friend in Lithuania ready. Border officers rarely ask for it, but if they do and you have nothing, they may refuse entry. Print it or have it on your phone.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Officers may ask how you will pay for your trip. Have a bank statement or credit card showing at least €50 per day of your stay. Cash is fine too — they just want to see you are not stranded.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Lithuania, not from your departure date. If your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding or entry. Check your passport now.
90-day limit applies to all Schengen countries
The 90-day visa-free stay is for the entire Schengen area, not just Lithuania. If you've already spent time in France, Germany, or any other Schengen country, that time counts toward your 90-day limit. Use the Schengen calculator to track your days.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Vilnius Airport (VNO) or Kaunas Airport (KUN)
You'll go through passport control. Join the 'All Passports' queue. Have your passport, boarding pass, and return ticket ready. The officer may ask your purpose of visit and accommodation address. Answer clearly — tourism, business, or visiting friends.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport. The officer will scan it and check the Schengen Information System (SIS). If everything is fine, they'll stamp your passport with the entry date. No visa sticker is needed.
3
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim. Then walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have no goods to declare. You're free to enter Lithuania.
