Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Colombian passport needs to be valid only for the time you plan to stay in North Macedonia. Airlines at Bogotá may ask for 6 months validity — check with your carrier before departure.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from North Macedonia
Immigration officers at Skopje Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter from your host in North Macedonia. Border officers occasionally ask for this, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during the stay
Have bank statements or a credit card ready — officers may ask how you'll fund your trip. Around €50 per day is a safe benchmark to show.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in North Macedonia, not from when you leave. If your passport expires sooner, renew it before you go.
Overstaying is not worth it
The 90-day visa-free stay is not extendable. Overstaying even a day can result in a fine (around €50–100) and a ban from re-entering for up to a year. Set a calendar reminder to leave on time.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at border
At Skopje Airport or any land border, join the 'All Passports' queue. Have your passport and return ticket ready. The officer will check your passport validity, stamp you in, and you're done — usually under 5 minutes.
2
Show documents if asked
You may be asked for proof of accommodation or onward travel. Keep a printed or phone copy of your booking and ticket. If you have travel insurance, mention it — it's not required but shows you're prepared.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the date of entry and the maximum stay (90 days). Check the stamp before walking away — if it's wrong, ask for a correction immediately.
