Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Uganda eVisa
Apply for a Uganda eVisa at visas.immigration.go.ug before you travel. The application takes about 15 minutes — you'll need a passport scan, a digital photo, and your flight itinerary. Processing usually takes 2-3 business days, and the visa is valid for 90 days from issue.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Uganda
Your Colombian passport needs at least two blank pages for entry and exit stamps. Uganda immigration strictly enforces the 6-month validity rule — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding in Bogotá or at Entebbe.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers at Entebbe International Airport routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Airlines check this before boarding in Colombia — have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation letter
Have a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in Uganda ready. Immigration may ask where you're staying — a printed booking confirmation or a screenshot on your phone works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Evidence of sufficient money for your stay
Carry a bank statement or a credit card showing you can cover your expenses in Uganda. Immigration rarely asks, but having it ready avoids delays — aim for at least $200 USD per week of your trip.Recommended
Apply early — no visa on arrival
Colombian passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Uganda. You must have an approved eVisa before you travel. Apply at least a week in advance to avoid last-minute stress.
Keep your eVisa letter handy
Print a copy of your eVisa approval and also save it on your phone. Immigration officers at Entebbe will ask to see it. A digital copy on your phone is usually accepted, but a printed backup is safer.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Uganda eVisa portal (visas.immigration.go.ug). Fill out the application, upload a passport photo and your passport data page, and pay the fee (around $50 USD for a single-entry tourist visa). Processing usually takes 2–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll get an email with your eVisa letter. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. You'll show this at the immigration desk upon arrival.
3
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport
Most flights land at Entebbe (EBB). After deplaning, follow signs to 'Immigration'. Join the queue for 'Foreign Passports'. Have your passport, eVisa letter, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready.
4
Get your passport stamped
The immigration officer will check your documents, take a photo (sometimes), and stamp your passport. You'll be allowed to stay up to 90 days. Keep the entry stamp safe — you'll need it when you leave.
