Passport validity counts from entry date

Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa PDF, flight booking, and hotel confirmation in a folder on your phone. Also email them to yourself. If you lose your printed copy, you can show the digital version at immigration.
eVisa is straightforward
The entire process is online — no embassy visit, no paperwork. Most applicants get approved within 3–5 business days. Just double-check your name and passport number before submitting.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Azerbaijan eVisa portal (evisa.gov.az). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo, and pay the fee. Processing takes 3–5 business days for standard service.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, the eVisa is emailed to you as a PDF. Print a paper copy and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at the border.
3
Arrive at Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD)
Most visitors fly into Baku. After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. Have your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket ready. The officer will scan your passport and stamp it. The process usually takes 5–10 minutes.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim. Then walk through customs (green channel if nothing to declare). You're now in Azerbaijan.
