Frequently asked questions

No, the 90-day visa-free stay is not extendable. If you want to stay longer, you must leave Colombia before the 90 days are up and re-enter, or apply for a different visa type before travel.
Overstaying can result in fines (around 2–3 USD per day over) and a ban on re-entry for a period. Always exit before your stamp expires. If you're close, leave to a neighboring country and come back.
Not required for Cypriot passport holders arriving from Cyprus or Europe. However, if you've recently been in a country with yellow fever (e.g., Brazil, parts of Africa), you may need proof. Check with your airline.
Technically, the visa-free entry is for tourism only. Remote work for a foreign employer is a gray area — many digital nomads do it, but officially it's not permitted. Colombia has a digital nomad visa (Visa V) if you plan to stay longer and work.
Check-Mig is a free online form required for all travelers entering Colombia. Fill it out at migracioncolombia.gov.co between 72 hours and 1 hour before your flight. You'll need flight details, passport info, and accommodation. Save the confirmation.
No, it's not mandatory for entry. But it's strongly recommended — medical costs in Colombia can be high, and insurance covers hospital stays, accidents, and trip disruptions. Many travelers buy a policy from SafetyWing or similar.
No. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. If it's shorter, you'll be denied boarding or entry. Renew your passport before traveling.
