What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Bauerfield Airport (Port Vila)
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration' — it's a small terminal. Join the queue for foreign passports. Have your passport, return ticket (screenshot or printed), and accommodation booking ready. The officer will stamp you in for up to 120 days. The whole process usually takes 10-20 minutes.
2
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel. There's a customs check on the way out — declare any food, plants, or large amounts of cash. Then you're free to go.

No. Vanuatu does not require an online arrival declaration. You just fill out a simple paper card on the plane (like most countries). Keep it with your passport.
The visa-free entry is for tourism only. Working remotely for a foreign employer is technically not allowed, but enforcement is rare. If you plan to work, consider the Vanuatu Digital Nomad Visa (available for longer stays).
The local currency is Vanuatu vatu (VUV). ATMs are available in Port Vila and Luganville, but they can run out of cash. Bring some Australian dollars or US dollars as backup — they're widely accepted at hotels and larger shops.
