Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your Czech passport needs to be valid for the full duration of your stay in Cyprus. Cyprus does not enforce the 6-month validity rule for EU passport holders — your passport just needs to cover your travel dates.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration at Larnaca and Paphos airports routinely asks for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in Cyprus. Officers occasionally ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient cash or card
Have access to at least €50–€100 per day of your stay. A credit card with a bank statement or cash works — they rarely ask, but it's good to have.Recommended
Cyprus is now part of the Schengen area
Since March 2024, Cyprus applies Schengen rules. Your 90-day visa-free stay counts toward the Schengen 90/180-day limit. If you've already spent time in other Schengen countries, check your remaining days.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Airlines check your passport validity at check-in. If it's less than 6 months from your entry date, you will be denied boarding. No exceptions.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents before departure
Check your passport validity (6+ months from entry date) and print or save digital copies of your return ticket, accommodation booking, and travel insurance. Also arrange a local SIM or eSIM so you have data on arrival.
2
At the departure airport (Prague, Brno, etc.)
Check in online if possible. At the gate, the airline will verify your passport validity and may ask for your return ticket. Have your booking confirmations ready on your phone.
3
Arrival at Larnaca or Paphos airport
Follow signs to 'EU/EEA/Switzerland' passport control. Hand over your passport. The officer may ask your purpose of visit and length of stay. Answer clearly. You'll receive an entry stamp. No visa is needed.
4
After passport control
Collect your luggage, then proceed through customs (green channel if nothing to declare). Exit into the arrivals hall. You're free to start your trip.
