Czech passport holders need a visa to visit India. Since 2026, the easiest option is the eVisa, which you apply for online before you travel. It's valid for tourism, business, and medical visits.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for an Indian eVisa at indianvisaonline.gov.in at least 4 days before departure. The fee ranges from $25 to $80 USD depending on the visa type (tourist, business, medical). Approval usually arrives within 72 hours — print the approval letter and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for 6 months beyond your stay
Your Czech passport needs at least 6 months of validity beyond your intended departure date from India. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from India
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a digital version on your phone showing your flight out of India within the eVisa validity period.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in India. Immigration may ask for your first night's address — having a booking screenshot ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or credit card showing you have enough funds for your stay. Officers rarely ask, but if they do, a printed statement with at least $500–$1,000 USD equivalent usually satisfies them.Recommended
eVisa processing times can vary
Apply at least a week before your flight if possible. During Indian holidays or peak seasons, processing can take longer. Don't book non-refundable tickets until you have the visa in hand.
Keep your eVisa and passport together
You'll need to show both at check-in, at the gate, and at immigration. A simple folder or phone case with a clear pocket works well.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to indianvisaonline.gov.in and fill out the eVisa application. Upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport info page. Pay the fee (around $25–$100 depending on duration). Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive eVisa approval
You'll get an email with your eVisa attached. Print it or save a PDF on your phone. The eVisa is linked to your passport number — no sticker needed.
3
Arrive at Indian airport
At immigration counters in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Kochi, and other major airports, join the 'eVisa' queue. Present your passport and the eVisa printout or phone screen. They'll take your photo and fingerprints.
4
Collect baggage and exit
After immigration, collect your luggage from the carousel. You may be randomly selected for customs inspection — just follow the green channel if you have nothing to declare.
