Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Saint Lucia. Airlines check this at check-in. If your passport expires sooner, renew it before you travel.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Saint Lucia
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at the border. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready. Without one, you may be denied boarding or entry.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a copy of your hotel reservation or a letter from your host. Officers may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Have access to enough cash or a credit card to cover your expenses. Immigration may ask for proof of funds if you look like you might overstay or work illegally.Recommended
No visa needed, but don't skip the basics
Visa-free doesn't mean 'no documents'. Always carry your return ticket and accommodation proof — immigration can and does ask. A quick check saves a lot of hassle.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
The 6-month rule is not flexible. If your passport expires sooner, you'll be turned away at check-in or at the border. Renew early.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the airport
You'll land at Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) or George F. L. Charles Airport (SLU). Follow signs to 'Immigration' — it's a single queue for all arrivals.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport and completed landing card (usually given on the plane). The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation details. Answer clearly and politely.
3
Get stamped in
The officer will stamp your passport with a date stamp. Check the stamp says '90 days' or the date you must leave by. If it's less than 90 days, ask politely why.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then customs. Green channel if you have nothing to declare, red channel if you do.

Frequently asked questions

No. The visa-free stay is strictly 90 days. Extensions are not available for visa-free visitors. If you want to stay longer, you'd need to apply for a visa or residence permit before your 90 days expire — but that's a different process entirely.
No. If you're connecting through Saint Lucia and don't leave the airport transit area, you don't need a visa. But if you plan to leave the airport — even for a few hours — you'll need to meet the visa-free entry requirements (valid passport, return ticket).
You'll likely be denied boarding by the airline or refused entry by Saint Lucia immigration. The 6-month validity rule is strictly enforced. Renew your passport before you travel.
No. There's no online arrival declaration or eTA for Czech citizens. You'll fill out a paper landing card on the plane or at the airport.
No. The visa-free entry is for tourism only. Working remotely for a foreign employer is technically not allowed without a work permit. Saint Lucia does have a 'Digital Nomad Visa' (the 'Live It' program) if you want to stay longer and work legally.
Overstaying is taken seriously. You may be fined, detained, or banned from re-entering Saint Lucia. If you realize you'll overstay, contact the Saint Lucia Immigration Department before your visa-free period ends.
Yes. Most airlines include it in your ticket price, but if not, you'll pay around 50-70 XCD (about $18-26 USD) at the airport. Check with your airline before you fly.
