Valid passport
Passport validity
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Nigeria. Have at least two blank visa pages for entry and exit stamps.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers at Lagos and Abuja airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight itinerary ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Nigeria. Immigration may ask for this at the border, especially if you're arriving without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Financial means
Carry proof of sufficient funds for your stay — a bank statement or credit card showing at least $1,000 USD equivalent is a safe bet. Immigration rarely checks this, but it's better to have it.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no visa on arrival
You must apply and receive your eVisa before you fly. There is no visa on arrival for Czech passport holders. Airlines will check your eVisa at check-in.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa, passport, return ticket, and hotel booking as PDFs on your phone and in cloud storage. If you lose your phone, you'll still have access.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the Nigeria Immigration Service portal (portal.immigration.gov.ng) and complete the eVisa application. Upload your passport photo and supporting documents. Pay the fee online. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll get an email with your eVisa attached. Print it out and keep a digital copy on your phone. You'll need to show it at the airport check-in and on arrival.
3
Arrive at a Nigerian airport
At Lagos (LOS), Abuja (ABV), or Port Harcourt (PHC) — the main international airports — go to the 'eVisa' or 'Visa on Arrival' desk. Present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. An officer will take your fingerprints and a photo, then stamp you in.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel. You may be asked for your yellow fever vaccination card (if you have it). Then proceed through customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel.
