Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Qatar. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Outbound travel proof
Immigration officers at Hamad International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they will check the date matches your visa-free stay.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in Qatar. Immigration may ask where you are staying — having the address and contact number ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Have at least 5,000 QAR (approx. 1,370 USD) in cash or a credit card statement showing available funds. Immigration rarely asks, but budget airlines may check before boarding.Recommended
Visa on arrival is automatic for Czechs
You don't need to apply or pay anything in advance. Just show up with a valid passport, return ticket, and accommodation booking. The process takes about 15 minutes at the airport.
Overstay fines are steep
Overstaying even one day costs 200 QAR (about €50). The fine increases daily. Set a reminder to leave before your 30 days are up.

What happens at the border

1
Land at Hamad International Airport
After deplaning, follow the signs for 'Visa on Arrival' or 'Immigration'. The counters are clearly marked. You'll join a queue — it usually moves quickly, but can take 15–30 minutes during peak hours.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport, return ticket (printed or on phone), and accommodation booking. The officer will check your passport validity and stamp the visa sticker into your passport. No payment is required for Czech citizens.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
Once stamped, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's no arrival declaration form to fill out. You're free to enter Qatar.
