Czech passport holders need an e-visa to enter Uganda. Apply online before you travel — there's no visa on arrival for tourism. The process is straightforward if you have your documents ready.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for your Uganda eVisa at visas.immigration.go.ug. The standard tourist eVisa costs $50 USD and is valid for 90 days from issue. Processing takes 2–3 business days — do not book flights until you receive approval.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must have 6+ months validity
Your Czech passport needs at least 6 months of remaining validity from your date of entry into Uganda. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Entebbe Airport routinely ask for proof of a return or onward flight. Have a printed or digital copy of your ticket ready. Without one, you risk being refused entry and sent back on the next flight.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Uganda. Officers occasionally ask for this during secondary checks, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccination certificate
Mandatory for all travellers
Uganda requires a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate from all arriving passengers. You must present the original WHO-approved card at passport control — no card means you may be vaccinated on the spot or denied entry.Required
No visa on arrival
Uganda no longer offers visa on arrival for tourism. You must have an approved e-visa before you fly. Airlines check this at check-in — without it, you won't be allowed to board.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Uganda, not from when you leave. If your passport expires in 5 months, you'll be denied entry.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-visa online
Go to the official Uganda e-visa portal (visas.immigration.go.ug). Fill in the application, upload your passport photo and passport data page, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 2–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your e-visa approval
Once approved, you'll get a PDF via email. Print it out and keep a digital copy on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival.
3
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport
Most flights from Europe land at Entebbe. After deplaning, follow signs to 'Immigration'. Join the queue for 'Visitors with e-visa'. Have your passport, printed e-visa, and return ticket ready.
4
Get your passport stamped
The officer will check your documents, take your fingerprints, and stamp your passport. The whole process usually takes 5–10 minutes if you have everything ready.
