Czech passport holders can enter Kosovo without a visa for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This has been the case since 2010 and remains unchanged in 2026. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Czech passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Kosovo. Border officers at Pristina Airport check this at the booth — no 6-month rule applies here.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kosovo
Immigration at Pristina Airport asks for a return or onward ticket on arrival. Airlines also check this before boarding in Prague — have a printed or digital copy ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or an invitation letter from your host. Officers occasionally ask for it at the border, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or credit card ready. Border officers rarely ask, but if they do, they want to see you have at least €50–100 per day of your stay.Recommended
Kosovo uses the Euro
Even though Kosovo is not in the EU, the official currency is the Euro (EUR). You can use euros from Czech Republic without exchanging. ATMs are widely available in Pristina and other towns.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Kosovo immigration counts the 6-month validity from your entry date, not your departure date. If your passport expires 5 months after you land, you'll be refused entry. Double-check before you fly.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare documents before departure
Check your passport expiry date — it must be valid for at least 6 months after your entry date. Print or save to your phone: your return/onward ticket, first night's accommodation confirmation, and travel insurance policy. Also download an offline map of Pristina in case you have no signal on arrival.
2
Arrival at Pristina International Airport (PRN)
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. There are separate queues for EU/EEA citizens and other nationalities. As a Czech passport holder, you can use the EU/EEA lane. Have your passport and boarding pass ready. The officer will check your passport, may ask how long you're staying and where you're staying, then stamp you in. The whole process usually takes 2-5 minutes.
3
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim. Customs is usually straightforward — green channel for most travellers. If you're carrying more than €10,000 in cash or equivalent, you must declare it. Then you're free to exit the arrivals hall.
