Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Visa / Entry permitYou can enter Qatar without a visa for short visits, but you must meet other entry conditions.
Visa-free entry for Danish citizens
Danish passport holders do not need a visa for stays up to 90 days for tourism or business. Entry is visa-free, so no advance visa application is required. Not required

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended date of arrival in Qatar.Required
Blank passport pagesThe entry stamp needs a clean page, so make sure you have a spare.
At least 1 blank page
Your passport must have at least 1 blank page for entry stamping.Required

Proof of departure
You must hold a confirmed return or onward ticket showing departure from Qatar before your visa-free period ends.Required
Proof of accommodationNot always asked, but having it ready speeds up entry.
Hotel booking or host details
Be ready to show a hotel reservation or the address and contact details of where you will stay in Qatar.Recommended
Proof of sufficient fundsImmigration may ask how you'll support yourself during your visit.
Financial means for stay
Carry evidence of sufficient funds (cash, credit/debit cards, or bank statement) to cover your stay in Qatar.Recommended
Arrival declarationYou don't need to fill out any online form before you travel.
No pre-arrival form
No arrival declaration is required for Danish citizens entering Qatar. Not required
E-visa applicationFor longer stays or work, contact the nearest Qatari embassy or the official visa portal.
Not applicable
Since entry is visa-free, no e-visa application is needed. If you plan to stay longer than 90 days or work, you must apply for a visa through the Qatari authorities. Not required
90-day stay is generous — but not extendable
The visa waiver gives you 90 days in Qatar, but it cannot be extended. If you plan to stay longer, you'll need to leave and re-enter, or apply for a different visa type before your 90 days run out.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date. Airlines check this before boarding, and Qatari immigration checks it again on arrival. If you're close to the limit, renew your passport first.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Hamad International Airport (DOH)
Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then to passport control. There are separate queues for GCC residents and other nationalities — as a Danish passport holder, use the general foreign passport queue.
2
Present your passport at the immigration counter
Hand over your passport with at least 6 months validity. The officer will scan it and issue a visa waiver on the spot. No forms to fill in advance, no fee.
3
Receive your entry stamp and collect luggage
The officer stamps your passport with the visa waiver (valid for 90 days). Then proceed to baggage claim and customs. The whole process typically takes 10–20 minutes depending on queues.
