Danish passport holders can enter Kosovo visa-free for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. This policy has been in place since 2010 and remains unchanged for 2026. Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Danish passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Kosovo. No minimum validity period beyond your departure date is required by Kosovo law, but airlines may enforce a 3-month validity rule — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kosovo
Immigration officers at Pristina International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound booking ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed or digital hotel confirmation, Airbnb receipt, or a letter from your host. Border officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Keep a bank statement or credit card showing you can cover your expenses. Kosovo does not publish a fixed minimum amount, but around €50–€100 per day is a safe benchmark if questioned.Recommended
Passport validity counts from arrival, not departure
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Kosovo. If it expires sooner, you'll be denied entry — even if you plan to leave before it expires.
No extension possible
The 90-day visa-free period cannot be extended. If you overstay, you risk fines, deportation, and a ban from re-entering Kosovo. Plan your departure carefully.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents before departure
Check your passport validity (6+ months from arrival), print or save your return ticket and first-night hotel booking, and consider getting travel insurance and an eSIM. No visa application is needed.
2
Arrive at Pristina International Airport (PRN)
After landing, follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Passport Control'. There are separate queues for EU/EEA citizens and others — join the EU/EEA line. Have your passport and any supporting documents ready.
3
Present your passport to the immigration officer
Hand over your passport. The officer will check your validity, stamp your passport, and may ask about your stay duration and return ticket. Answer clearly. The process usually takes 1-2 minutes.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then customs (green channel for most travellers). You're free to enter Kosovo.
