What happens at the border

Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisa.e-gov.kz, fill in your details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $20–$30 USD depending on processing speed). You'll get a confirmation email within a few days.

Print or save your eVisa
Once approved, you'll receive a PDF. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. Border control at Almaty or Astana airport will scan the QR code.

Arrive at the airport in Kazakhstan
At passport control, hand over your passport and the eVisa printout (or show it on your phone). They'll check your return ticket and accommodation. Expect a short queue — 10–20 minutes usually.

Collect your luggage and exit
After the stamp, head to baggage claim. No arrival declaration form needed for standard tourist visits. You're free to go.
